Use these at the load end of a chain assembly when the chain-to-load distance requires on-site adjustment without cutting.

This 4-pack builds out four adjustable-end hooks for chain assemblies running on auto transport trailers, car haulers, or light flatbeds. WLL: 4,700 lbs per hook. Break strength: 18,800 lbs. DOT/FMCSA Grade 70 compliant with "G70" stampings on each hook.

The most practical chain assembly for hauling combines both types: a grab hook at one end (fixed to the trailer anchor point) and a slip hook at the other (adjustable to the load). The grab hook's narrow throat captures a specific link and can't be moved without releasing tension. The slip hook's wide throat accepts the chain at any link position, letting you dial in the right working length for each load.

The safety latch on a slip hook is not a load-bearing component — it's a retention device that prevents the chain from falling out of the hook throat when slack. Under tension, the chain is held by the hook geometry itself, not the latch.
