Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a ratchet strap and a ratchet?
A ratchet strap is a complete assembly with webbing, a ratchet and end hooks, ready to use. A ratchet by itself is the buckle hardware, sold separately for building or repairing straps.
Which rating should I use to pick a ratchet strap?
Use the working load limit (WLL), not the breaking strength. Under 49 CFR §393.106, the combined WLL of the tiedowns must be at least one-half the weight of the cargo. See the Strap Buying Guide and the DOT and FMCSA FAQ.
Can I get custom lengths or colors?
Custom lengths and colors are available for many ratcheting tie downs. Call 833.LIFT.TOW (833.543.8869).
