2" Short Wide Handle Ratchet with Snap Hook — 4 Pack | 3,333 lb. WLL
On a loaded car hauler, vertical clearance between the deck and the vehicle underbody is limited. The short handle on this ratchet is designed for deck operation in that compressed working space — where a full-length ratchet handle can be difficult to cycle between a vehicle's underbody and the deck surface. The snap hook provides quick attachment to anchor track without threading strap through a hook jaw on each use.
Removable spacers — a detail that matters on non-standard track: The snap hook on this ratchet ships with removable spacers that allow you to center or offset the hook position for non-standard towing applications. This adjustment is not commonly available on most ratchets, and it is useful when vehicle frame geometry or track spacing does not align to a standard configuration.

Why does a short handle matter on a loaded deck?
Once a vehicle is loaded above the deck, the vertical space between the vehicle's underbody and the trailer deck can be as little as a few inches in some positions. A full-length ratchet handle that cycles freely when the deck is empty may require awkward angles or body positioning once a vehicle is loaded above it. The short handle is designed to operate in that reduced clearance without the same constraint.
What are the removable spacers for on the snap hook?
The removable spacers allow the snap hook to be centered or offset on its bolt mount. This is useful when working with track systems or vehicle frame geometry that does not align to the ratchet's default hook position. Removing or repositioning a spacer shifts the hook laterally so it seats correctly in a non-standard track slot.
How does the snap hook differ from a standard ratchet hook?
A standard auto-hauling ratchet hook requires you to thread the hook over a ring or fitting. A snap hook has a spring-loaded gate that opens and closes, allowing the hook to engage a ring, D-ring, or track slot without threading. This speeds up attachment on repeated use. Confirm that the snap hook geometry is compatible with your specific anchor hardware before use.
What's the right ratchet count for a typical car-hauler deck?
A standard 4-point tie-down for one vehicle uses four ratchets. A tandem-axle rollback or open carrier running two vehicles per load commonly uses eight. This 4-pack is sized for a single-vehicle setup; order two sets for a two-vehicle configuration.
