The 3/8" Grade 70 clevis grab hook is the standard end fitting for transport chain assemblies on flatbeds, lowboys, and heavy-haul equipment trailers. Each hook is rated at 6,600 lbs working load limit (WLL) with a 26,400 lb break strength and a 4:1 design factor, heat-treated alloy steel, and stamped "G70" so the grade can be confirmed at a glance. The shallow throat accepts a 3/8" chain link and keeps it from walking under load.

Why Grade 70 Is the Transport Standard
Grade 70 is the recognized standard for cargo tie-down chain in commercial trucking. The "G70" or "70" stamp on each link and hook is how an inspector confirms the grade. Under FMCSA cargo securement rules (49 CFR 393.106), the combined WLL of all tie-downs must equal at least 50% of the cargo weight, and 3/8" hardware at 6,600 lbs WLL gives heavy equipment loads the capacity they need.
